This stealthy white Ford Ranger Raptor came through our factory to swap the factory tub for a Utemaster TrailCore Tray, with an under tray drawer, underbody toolboxes and a rear ladder rack. Here's what went into the build.

Tub Off

The factory tub came off, and the TrailCore went on with a chassis bracket kit made for the Raptor frame. The Raptor's factory tech carries across: the reverse camera, rear parking sensors, rear radar, blind spot monitoring, tail lights, fuel flap central locking and 230V outlet all keep working.

Note: Reverse Brake Assist isn't compatible with TrailCore products.

TrailCore Tray and Headboard

The TrailCore Tray is built around full-length aluminium extrusions down each side. They carry the strength, and they double as T-tracks, so you can mount gear and tie loads down anywhere along the deck. The slam-latch sideboards lift off on quick-release hinges, and the headboard is rated to 1000kg in a crash.

This build adds the Premium Pack: plywood lining on the sideboards, tailgate and headboard, 4 stainless steel tie hooks that work with the T-tracks, and sequential LED tail lights.

The headboard carries a MULE-TEK panel, which turns it into a mounting wall. Strap loads to it, or clip on bins, tool mounts or recovery boards, and move them around as your gear changes.

Under and Behind the Tray

Under the deck is a heavy-duty under tray drawer, wired into the Raptor's central locking. It's long enough to store the full-length sideboards, so you can run the tray as a flat deck and keep the sides with you. It sits inside the tray's footprint, so you don't lose any deck space.

Two tapered underbody toolboxes sit behind the rear wheels, with infill panels closing the gaps and colour-matched mudguards finishing it off. That gives a clean line under the tray with no exposed chassis.

At the back, a removable rear ladder rack carries ladders, timber, pipe or kayaks long over the cab. It's rated to 100kg and is height adjustable to line up with a roof rack.
